Did you ever think “fail early and fail often” wasn’t that great of business advice? Jason Fried would not only agree but turns other traditional notions of business on their head. I had the great pleasure of hearing him speak about his new book REWORK at South by Southwest and since, haven’t stopped hearing his name, company, or book pop up in conversation. One friend who owns his own web design company shared that REWORK “is the single most important book I’ve read as a business owner.” With chapters that talk to the value of saying no, fostering an environment of non-interruption, and the importance of an entire company embracing marketing, I’d agree with him. The book also has great insight that can be applied to those in social media, especially in communicating and relating to customers as a human instead of a corporate entity. Watch this interview with Jason Fried to hear more about the book, 37signals and even his take on email salutations.
